A new textiles economy: Redesigning fashion’s future

This report from the Circular Fibres Initiative looks at how stakeholders from across the fashion industry can collaborate to create a new textiles economy aligned with the principles of the circular economy. It notes that every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned, with an estimated $500bn in value lost every year due to clothing that’s barely worn and rarely recycled. The report looks at how the fashion industry can use its creative power to build a textiles system that provides benefits to business, society and the environment.
